BUILDING FAITH, BUILDING HOPE

In recent months, I’ve been busy with ministry and teaching in different places, while also taking time for my health and a special family trip — a much-needed season of rest. This year feels extra meaningful as I look back on more than twenty years in the Philippines. A highlight was our seven churches uniting for Easter worship, giving all glory to God! Above all, I thank the Lord for His faithfulness in sending me here and allowing me to share His dream with others.

This year has been a journey of sharing God’s dream beyond the Philippines! In May, I helped lead staff training in Darkhan, Mongolia. In July, I had the privilege of training ethnic minority youth in Laos. Then in September, together with YWAM leaders who share the same heart for raising up emerging leaders, we held a week-long leadership training in the Philippines. At the end of October, I’ll be in Indonesia to teach local youth about missions and explore how to effectively share the gospel with children.

Our annual staff outreach was held in Kabacan, Mindanao, among Muslim communities. We shared God’s creation story with children through art activities, served them with snacks and cleaning, and visited families in the community. In the evenings, we met with local church youth, encouraging them in their identity as God’s children and inviting them to share His love with their Muslim neighbors.

After the YWAM National Conference in Baguio, where we renewed our hearts and calling to missions, we traveled on to the mountain region of Bontoc to serve children and support a local church. We ended the journey with a visit to Vigan, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Experiencing the rich diversity of the Philippines reminded me that God’s love knows no boundaries, and I give all thanks and glory to Him for making this journey possible.

In July, we welcomed a Korean outreach team of women ranging from their late 20s to early 70s. Their ministry focused on serving mothers and grandmothers with deep love, while also visiting children, youth, and schools to share testimonies and God’s dreams. Together, we experienced powerful moments of worship, and through their presence, many lives were touched with God’s abundant love.

Looking back, much of my ministry has centered around Iloilo, where I live. Yet over time, I have seen how God has been gradually enlarging the boundaries of my ministry, allowing the influence of the gospel to reach more people. During this season, the mission center at Love Church in Iloilo, together with the rural churches, have continued to grow through the dedication of local workers and church leaders, experiencing God’s grace in many ways.

Though life still brings many challenges, I find great strength and encouragement in the faithful co-workers who walk alongside me in answering the Lord’s call.

By God’s grace, we have begun the first steps toward building a new church and ministry center in Iloilo. After 17 years, our bamboo Love Church—where many encountered Christ’s love—will remain a treasured memory as we prepare for a new space. This new facility will serve as a place for worship, discipleship, training, youth and children’s activities, and a home for missionaries. We pray it will be more than a building, becoming a channel of life and blessing, and we deeply value your prayers as we take this step of faith.

🙏 Urgent Prayer Request: On September 30, a 6.9 earthquake struck Central Philippines, causing 72 deaths and more than 293 injuries. Our region also experienced a 5.3 quake that night with power outages, and aftershocks continue. Combined with ongoing typhoons, many in Northern Cebu and nearby areas are facing great hardship, with some losing their homes. Please pray for urgent relief and long-term recovery for affected families.

We are always grateful for God’s grace in every circumstance, and for each of you who stand with us in our calling as sending missionaries. Thank you for your faithful support and prayers—we also continue to stand with you in prayer from here.
